Here's Where the Sleeping Starts

I don't know how we made it this long, but we're all pretty sick of Bedtime Lullabies from Johnson's, so we retired that dog-eared disc to Nate's closet. But what to replace it with? He fell asleep to Alison Krauss quite a bit last year, but he didn't seem all that interested when we dusted her off over the weekend. So two nights ago, I went with my gut and popped in the Sundays. Last night, he asked for Harriet again. What can I say? The kid's got taste.

Some of our naptime favorites (read: *effective* LOL) at daycare were anything by Jim Brickman, anything instrumental with "nature noises" (wind, ocean, etc) woven in and the CD "Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins.

I used to make mix tapes and CDs for friends long before it was trendy ... probably 200 or so in all. I keep telling Jenn I need to make Nate a few mixes -- car tunes, bedtime tunes, etc. I have a pretty eclectic collection to choose from, and some very nice contemporary folk music and other mellow stuff to throw onto the sleepytime disc. BTW, I've never heard "Return to Pooh Corner," but I think my sister used to have it -- right, Tami?

Yes, I have it. I'll send you a copy! I used to take naps to it when I was in college. Put a big, dark blanket over the window and I could sleep for hours...

*sigh*...

I've been listening to the Sundays a lot lately, go nate!
